eARTh – Honoring Our Mother Earth
Available spots
Service Description
Make a plan with us to honor our planet this Earth Day. On Wednesday morning, April 24, we will gather to explore ways we can listen to nature using both found objects and the spiritual art tool of SoulCollage®. Val Hornburg and Denise Andersen are co-facilitating this gathering. St. Francis, often described as a nature mystic, was one who found God in the vast and beautiful fields of nature. In following the Franciscan path, we’ll find ways to bring nature deeper into our homes. We’ll explore St. Francis and his relationship with his natural surroundings, which culminated in his writing of the Canticle of the Creatures. We meet in person at the Franciscan Spiritual Center (in Clark Commons on the campus of the former Marylhurst University). 3162 Furman Drive Marylhurst, OR 97036 Wednesday, April 24, 10am – 12:30pm Fee: $50 Bring a journal and any small natural found objects that delight you. All other supplies will be provided. You are welcome to bring a lunch or stick around for a walk after the class concludes. “The whole earth is full of God’s glory.” Isaiah 6:3 Register below.
