Meditation Using the Labyrinth
Service Description
There is a new opportunity to gather together to meditate. Tom Welch will be hosting a meditation group, which uses the labyrinth as a means of meditating. Participants will use finger labyrinths (either their own or paper ones provided by Tom) to focus an intention. The group meets for six consecutive Wednesday evenings, starting October 16, from 6:30-8pm. We will gather on Zoom. Each session begins with a 30-minute check-in and introduction to some aspect of the labyrinth. The next 30 minutes will be dedicated to each of our own silent “walks” of our finger labyrinths. The final 30 minutes will include voluntary sharing. No prior labyrinth experience is necessary. These types of groups form community. In them participants support one another in the process of going deeper in their internal reflection and relationship with the Holy. In them, together, we hold a space for peace and transformation in the world. Tom Welch is a spiritual director and supervisor of spiritual directors with the Franciscan Spiritual Center. He is a certified Veriditas labyrinth facilitator and he co-facilitates our Contemplative First Friday gatherings. Tom is a man of laughter, insight, and generosity who welcomes all as equals. He has found in walking labyrinths a way to meditate and pray without words. Join us for this new offering. Begins October 16 and continues for 6 weeks. Wednesdays evenings, 6:30-8pm. We meet online. Tom Welch will facilitate. Cost for the six-week series is $60. A minimum of 5 people will need to register for the group to begin.
