Mystics in the Wild: Contemplative Walk

Take your spiritual contemplation outside this summer! Join Christine Naylor as she facilitates a contemplative walking and reflection experience at Milo McIver State Park in Estacada. This group will meet at the Estacada Lake boat access in the park at 10:45am. (A Paddling with the Mystics group will also meet at this time and location.) The group will walk on a forested trail loop for 2 hrs returning to the starting point by 1pm. An option to join others for a picnic lunch will follow ( bring your own food) . Together we will explore the practice of meditative walking, so this will differ from a regular hike or stroll through the woods. We will intentionally use all of our senses, experiment with our pace, temporarily set aside our normal way of engaging one another, and carry the words of a mystic in our hearts. There is ample parking at the meeting spot. A day use pass for this park is $5 or free with a valid 2024 OR State Park pass. Consider carpooling with others! This walk will explore a forest trail in Milo McIver park. Participants should be prepared to walk on unpaved forest trails, with some elevation change. This is not suitable for people requiring assistance from mobility devices (rollators, wheelchairs etc.) Join us as we create community, savor the natural splendor of the Pacific Northwest, and practice praying with our bodies, hearts, and neighbors. Milo McIver State Park in Estacada A map of our meeting place and other information will be sent out in July to those registered. Minimum 5 and Maximum 10 participants. Subject to weather conditions. We will notify you three days in advance if we need to cancel.
